How does
the Titan work?
Titan utilizes infrared light to heat the dermis well
below the skin's surface. The light is very safe, and the heating causes immediate
collagen contraction. During the procedure, the skin's surface
(epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan handpiece. After the procedure, new collagen growth
results in further tightening and the development of a more
youthful complexion with less lines, folds and looseness of the
skin.
The infrared light travels through the to the deeper layers of the skin
causing tightening of the collagen architecture. Because the
heat is applied deep within the skin, some swelling and redness
may be seen. The procedures takes approximately one hour.
The results of a Titan Skin Tightening procedure may be seen immediately to
within a few weeks of the treatment, however the full benefits
are usually not observed for three to six months.
The advantage of the Titan over the therma-lifting techniques
is that the skin and underlying fat is heated uniformly avoiding
differential heating of the fat; therefore, the risks of dents
and atrophy of the skin is much less likely. It is also less painful and less expensive than other procedures, such as Thermage.

How is the
Titan different from its competitors? - The Titan Difference
Titan employs light energy because it provides a more uniform
distribution of energy for heating the deep dermis than other
energy sources such as RF (radio frequency).
The TITAN procedure does not injure fat due to it's unique optical energy source. Competitor machines
have had multiple problems with injuring fat and causing some
dimpling because of their RF (radio-frequency) energy source.
The all-optical approach of the Titan procedure uses water as the target ,
creating an even distribution of the applied energy.
For the RF approach, the energy deposition
depends on the impedance of the layers in the skin, which varies
significantly from dermis to the subcutaneous fat layer.

What happens
